Kumanoyu Ski Area which is famous for “Kumanoyu Onsen”, a jade green natural hot spring, already has even 280cm deep snow and opens all areas now. (*Short-time operation is applied on weekdays from Jan 24, Monday, due to the Coronavirus, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) The snow falling in the cloudy weather this early morning stopped at around 8:30 p.m.
[No.1 Shirakaba Course, Kumanoyu]
The off-piste areas of No.1 Shirakaba Course (First Photo) and No.1 A Course (Photo) were groomed on the day before yesterday and covered with the ski tracks made yesterday, but they were still flat and nicely firm. I felt the edges of my skis stuck slightly on the end of turning, so I was caring of the slope condition around carefully.

A skier from Kyoto said, “I enjoyed skiing in Hakuba for 2 days from the day before yesterday and came to Shiga Kogen today. The slopes are not crowded, so good for my practice. I don’t decided to ski again tomorrow yet, but anyway, I will enjoy the hot spring after riding.” The upper groomed part of Umanose Course (Photo) was nicely wet and firm today.

The lower part of Umanose Course (Photo) was also groomed and firmer than the upper part. The wet slope was in a good condition and I could enjoy curving as I imagined there. At around 9:30 a.m, the clouds broke up and the blue sky spread over us. By the way, the way to the ski were so icy this morning that my car slipped. Please be carefull while driving in the mountain road even if it looks to be normal.
