Kumano-yu Ski Area was open on Nov. 26 (Fri), after Yokote-yama Ski Area started its winter operation on Nov. 19 (Fri)! No.2 Pair Lift was on operation and the 600 meter-long lower part of No.2 A Course under the middle station (Photo) was available today. 20-40 meters of the skier’s left side was groomed.
[No.2 A Course, Kumano-yu]
The nicely soft groomed part was in a good condition with mixed artificial and natural snow. The fluffy 5cm fresh snow fallen from the last night on the slope enabled me to ski very comfortably. In the non-groomed parts (Center in Photo) on the skier’s right side, the slope was a little hard and topped with 5-10cm fresh snow.

2 people from Tokyo (Photo) gave me the greeting, “We always enjoy your reports! We often go to Shiga Kogen and Hakuba as well. The reports of Snownavi are always a great help for us!” The snow was getting lighter in 30 minutes and we could see the blue sky through the breaks of clouds in the sunlight at around 9:30 a.m.
[No.2 A Course, Kumano-yu]
The snow from Nov. 24 (Wed) made all areas of Shiga Kogen white, not only Kumano-yu and Yokote-yama. The amount of the snowfall in Ichinose Family (Photo), Ichinose Diamond and the base area of Takamagahara Mammoth was 5-10cm deep. One of the staff said to me, “We can open the ski areas if we have one or two more snowfall!”
