2 people from Toyama Pref. gave me a greeting, “We always check your reports! We won a pair of 1 day lift tickets of Nomugi-toge, so we come snowboarding today! We also got the advance season ticket of Hakuba Norikura at your website, Snownavi.” From the top of the ski area (Altitude 2,130m), we could see Mt. Norikura (3,026m, Photo) and Mt. Ontake (3,067m) clearly.

In the off-piste areas of Mine-no-hara (Photo) and Yuriwari Course, there was 8-10cm fresh snow on the nicely firm bumps of wet snow and they were in good condition to try. The amount of the fresh snow was almost same in the upper areas, but the groomed slopes of Expert Course and Rabbit Course were hard with corn snow because they got much sunlights in the daytime.

We could enjoy smooth riding in Champion Course 2 which had the nicely firm groomed slope of wet snow topped with 8cm fresh snow. Champion Course and Panorama were also in good condition for cruising. Today was a national holiday in Japan, so every slope got busy soon and filled with ski tracks.

At around 9:30 a.m, we could find more and more beginners and families in Bambi Area (Photo). This area has a gentle slope of 12 degrees at the average, so here is good not only for skiing and snowboarding, but also for sleds. By the way, the kids under 6 years old are always free of charge. Besides, every 3rd Sunday is “Ski Kid’s Day” and children under 13 years old are also free of lift fees on this day.
