It got foggy thickly just after the open at 8:30 a.m. and the weak chilly wind made us feel cold. It was slightly raining in Chuo Area, but it did not matter for riding. The ski area was in corn snow condition and the groomed slope of Kurorsawa (Photo) was nicely firm.
[Course 2: Kurosawa]
The thick fog sometimes got light and we had the soft sunlight for a while. Course 5-A was as good as that of Kurosawa. There were hardly any people at around 9:00 a.m, so we could enjoy carving as we wanted on the private-like slope.
[Course 5-A]
The upper groomed part of Course 1-A was nicely firm and the lower groomed slope and Kashima (Photo) were nicely soft with melted snow. I was impressed by the wide tracks of experts on the corduroy patterns from 1-A to Kashima. After that, the visibility got better as the fog started to break at around 9:30 a.m.
[Course 3: Kashima]
In Maruyama, we could cruise comfortably on the nicely soft groomed slope. A man from Azumino City (2nd man from the right) talked, “I came skiing together with my colleague. We are beginners of riding, so he (2nd man from the left) teaches us how to ride.” The upper part of Ippon-buna Downhill Course was soft and the lower part was nicely soft as well.
[Course 7: Maruyama]
