A Happy New Year! Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the first rise of the year. However, the weather was calmer than I had expected in the early morning. There were some small snowballs at Ipponbuna Downhill Course, which was well-groomed and firm. It didn’t snow much last night, and there were only 5cm of new snow at the sides of the course.
[Ipponbuna Downhill Course]
It snowed lightly at first, however, it gradually got heavier and came down in earnest around 8:30 a.m.. Course 1-A was nicely firm. I enjoyed carving in the good condition. Tracks of pistens and skiers had been covered with the falling snow, however, it didn’t influence skiing.
[Course 1-A]
A family from Yokohama city, Kanagawa Prefecture said, “We always enjoy your reports! I believe this year will be a wonderful year because we finally met you today!” Two sisters, who had a little sister who was in a first grade at elementary school, were taking lessons at AZ Pro Snowboarding School then.
[Course3: Kashima]
The moderately firm slopes of Kashima and Kurosawa was also covered with a thin coat of new snow as of 9:00 a.m.. At the same time, more and more visitors began to arrive and it got crowded in a short time, which created an atmosphere of the New Year.
