Kashimayari / ◎200cm / Snowy2017.Feb.20
It was hailing weakly at around 8 a.m. But it turned to wet snow and started to fall heavily as time passed. “It don’t hurt us when we fall down.” said two women from Tokyo. The well groomed slope of Kurosawa was nicely soft and covered with 5-10 cm fresh snow.
[Course 2: Kurosawa]
The low pressure occurred around Honshu and temperature was high, so I couldn’t feel cold at the Central area though weak wind was blowing. Kurosawa and Kashima areas was crowded with young snowboarders who looked as if they were visited by bus tours.
[Course 2: Kurosawa]
Course 1-B & C were partly closed for “26th Kashimayari Masters Competition”. Many people were warming up at Course 1-A and there were many ski tracks already. 5-10 cm fresh snow was on the flatly groomed run of Kashima.
[Course 3: Kashima]
Ipponbuna Downhill Course was groomed nicely firm and covered with 15-20 cm fresh snow. 2 people gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your report!” They were the staffs of grooming cars and snowboarded down cheerfully even after the night shift. The groomed runs got rough at around 10 a.m. but the snow was soft and I could ski comfortably.
