At 10:30 this morning it was shaping up to be a nice warm sunny day, and conditions were spring-like over on the groomed, granular snow of the South Slope.I spent some time talking to a group of 5 people visiting from Shiga Prefecture. They greeted me, mentioning that they’re fans of our site, before we realized that we had run into each other last year as well on the slopes of Nomugi Toge. Of the group of five, it was the first time at Iwatake for 3 of them, while the other two said it had been about 15 years since their last visit.

Over in the DC PARK area, there are currently 25 items set up for freestyle skiers and boarders to enjoy.Advanced riders hitting the 8 and 10 meter kickers, catching big air and throwing in grabs one after another was a common scene on the day.In other news, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday 3/26, a first of its kind event called “CHAIRS CAMP” will be held at Iwatake!

It was loose, granular snow conditions over on the East Slope (pictured).A 2-lane mogul course open to anyone and everyone is currently installed alongside 4Sen East.It was similar loose, granular snow surface conditions down to the base area along Gezan to Sunny Valley and on to Paradise.

The panoramic view of the Northern Alps from HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR today was especially impressive.Those taking in the views today were all non-skiing tourists, and some of them could be seen relaxing on the deck together with their pet dogs.The Gondola Lift Discount Campaign valid for residents of Nagano Prefecture as well as residents of Itoigawa and Joetsu cities has been extended until 3/28 (Sun.).
