The end of the season, 3/28 (Sun.), is now less than two weeks away, and discounted spring skiing lift tickets are on sale as of today. (※1-Day Adults 3,400, Children 1,800, 70+ Seniors 2,300) Another change effective today is that the Sunny Valley to Paradise route is now the only option for skiing down to the base on the village side.

On the mountain side of the resort however, plenty of snow still remains and all courses can still be skied, with the lone exception of the North Slope. The morning clouds that hung above the snowfield slowly dissipated as the day got going, and by 8:30 a.m. clear, calm weather with plenty of blue sky and sunshine took over.
[Sawa Course]
The groomed granular snow surface of the South Slope (pictured, top) was nice and firm, while the East Slopes and Sawa Course (pictured, second from top) featured a thin covering of fresh, dry snow to start the day. While the Sunny Valley course was in good groomed condition at the top, things began to loosen up the further you traveled down the slope, and by the Paradise Slope (pictured), it was more or less slush. Both areas were free of bushes and exposed ground, thanks to the help of artificial snow.

Over at the HAKUBA DELI restaurant (※11:00 a.m. 〜 2:00 p.m.) located in the SKYARK building, one of the foods currently on offer is a “domestic lamb black curry” dish (pictured, 1,400 tax no included), created in collaboration with the well-known Mongolian-style lamb barbeque shop Miyama Genghis Khan.
