“Student Ski Competition IWATAKE (Alpen Division)” is held now until Mar. 13 (Sat). 5 people from Waseda University talked to me after their first run, “We could enjoy the first run, but the result was not as good as we expected…. We will do our best on the second run!” The slope of corn snow in front of White Plaza already got melted and wet this morning.

2 students from Gifu Pref. (Photo) talked, “We are practicing hard for Student Ski Competition IWATAKE!” I also saw many people skiing there including students who would join the student competition and young groups coming on tours. The wide and flat slope of South was nicely firm and in good condition of corn snow this morning.

In VIEW C, I heard the scratch sounds of skis on the hard slope. As I skied down to the bottom, the slope was getting softer and melted from the middle part. Especially in the lower parts which had a thick layer of wet snow, my skis sometimes slowed down due to the sticky snow.

East (Third and Forth Photo) was also nicely firm as South, so we could enjoy cruising comfortably there. I met 2 skiers who looked like students and asked them “Are you college students?” They answered, “No, we are almost reaching 70 years old. Finally, we can come skiing because the statement of emergency was lifted.”
