The sky grew light but it became warm with a strong sunshine. VIEW C and VIEW D had compacted granular snow and the snow melted, so it became soft. And, The shade areas in the forest were still compacted.

There has been ‘Student Ski Cometition IWATAKE (Alpaine)’ since Mar. 10th (Sun.). This morning Super GS started from 9:00 at the north of South Slope. The granular snow had been groomed and was compacted well in South Slope in the morning. We felt the fine vibration on our feet along the pattern of corduroy.

East Slope had compacted granular snow, so it was easy to turn with edges catch the snow. And, There were few sliders just after opening, so we could enjoy the flat & wide burns almost alone. There is DC PARK under remaking in North Slope and the slope will open again on Mar. 13th (Wed.).

Student Competition has also been held in Kometsuga Course and a part of Sunny Valley Course (photo). Descending Course had melted soft snow, so the boards ran well. Sunny Valley Course had “crunchy” snow and there were some ground areas from the beginning to the middle of the course but it was no trouble sliding down today.
