The snow beginning to flit in the morning was a little bit wet without wind and became dense. It was the 4th day of Student Ski Competition (Alpaine) and we had Male Super GS competition in South Slope and Female GS in Komatsuga Course. The skiers came one and after at the start point in South Slope.
[South Slope]
We couldn’t see the surface of burns well because of the dense gases and snow at the top of the slope. Sawa Course had been groomed well, so the ground was hard with 10cm fresh snow. The fresh snow was heavy, so most skiers and snowboarders slided down linearly.
[Sawa Course]
were also 10cm fresh snow on the hard ground in East Slope, so we felt the snow resistance a little. “We couldn’t see well because of the gases.. Which way should we go?” Two women coming from Yokohama said. There were many traces made by the skiers of Student Ski Competition, so it was hard to slide down on the messy fresh snow.
[East Slope]
Two men from Aichi talked to us, “We have read Snownavi reports. We now wonder where should we slide down.” After that, they headed to VIEW C. There was 15cm wet fresh snow in VIEW C, so some snowboarders had trouble sliding in the gently slope at the beginning stage. The snow stopped once around 10:00 and sometimes the sun shined from breaks in the clouds. And it began to snow again.
