Hakuba Iwatake / ○130cm / Snow2019.Jan.16
As the snow riding on a somewhat stronger northern wind fall strongly, the gas repeatedly gotten deeper and thinner. From the person who gets off the gondola and starts to slide out, “Wow, I can not see!” Approximately 10 cm of fresh snow which was topped in the South Slope which the base was tightened moderately was a feeling unique to powder snow.
[South Slope]
From the Gezan Course to the corridor, the wind blowing from the left to the right was particularly strong and cold. When I see the lighting in the central high speed lift station which becomes a mark toward the base area, I am relieved. The surrounding trees had become splendid fog ice.
[Gezan Course]
In the Sunny Valley Course, the southern section was firm and the northward section was well tightened. In both courses, about 5 cm of new snow on the top became cushion and edges firmly took up and I was able to repeat my desired turn.
[Sunny Valley Course]
The Paradise Slope is also a firm ground and new snow about 5 cm. There was non compacted snow in the end of the course (photo) and there was fine unevenness and attention was necessary. When the low pressure moves northeast of the Sea of Japan, the wind blowing into the low pressure is counterclockwise so the temperature may temporarily rise. Yesterday evening was exactly at that timing, it seemed that snow melting at that time cooled and solidified at midnight.
