Hakuba Iwatake / △120cm / Sunny & Cloudy2019.Jan.10
It was -14.3℃ this morning because of the radiative cooling, which was the lowest temperature of this season. I felt like keep moving because I was frozen to the bone when I was at the top. The firm, flat slope with powder snow was great and I saw lots of skiers/snowboarders coming up by Gondola.
[Gezan Course]
It was cloudy just before the slope opened. However, it got nicer after a while as a soft sunlight cast around 8:30 am. The wide South Slope was nicely firm too, filled with beautiful corduroy patterns. My skis ran well and I enjoyed making turns there.
[South Slope]
As I reached Rouka, the slope got firmer and I was able to enter into Sunny Valley Course with speed. The slope was nicely firm in the shade, while it was soft in the sun at Sunny Valley. Kometsuga Course, which can be accessed via Kamo1, was empty and like a secret great spot.
[South Slope]
My skis sank into the snow when I stepped on the soft VIEW D. There were poles in the middle area for lessons by Snowboard School, however, skier’s left side was available as usual. By the way, North Slope is closed from Jan.10 (Thus) to Jan.11 (Fri) for the construction of DC PARK.
