Hakuba Iwatake / △50cm / Sunny2018.Dec.21
East and North Slope started 2018-2019 winter operation at Hakuba Iwatake Snowfield. East Slope was well-compacted, filled with beautiful corduroy patterns. I enjoyed gaining speed.
[East Slope]Many visitors arrived late today, on the first day. As it was announced that three lines would begin operation from 8:15 am, people started to slide at North Slope. It was also nice like East Slope and there was no bush at the compacted area.
[North Slope]
Clouds were hanging over at low area of Hakuba Village (as shown in the first photo) and it was sunny above that. The air was nicely chilly in the morning but it was immediately heated up by the strong sunshine, which made me sweat.
[North Slope]
You shouldn’t miss the view from the terrace of HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR on a sunny day. “I came to see coloring leaves in the autumn but I prefer the winter scene actually. It’s great to have such nice weather and quality of snow today!”, a visitor coming from Azumino city, Nagano, said.
