Hakuba Iwatake Snowfield will open on Dec.21 (Fri) after the heavy snow we had over the last two days. Two slopes, North and East Slope, will be available. When I walked on the wet fresh snow at the white East Slope, I sometimes sank about 40cm.

Snow was being removed at North Slope and Lift stations. Neither North Slope nor East Slope was compacted. North Slope will be compacted tomorrow evening according to a member of staff. There was no bush as long as I could see, and the way where a buggy ran was firm.

It was snowing lightly at the top before noon. When I stood a pole on the snow surface of Gezan Course, it sank about 30~40cm and there was hard snow.

Among adjoining facilities, Sky Arch, HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR, THE CITY BAKERY and Gondola Sanroku Station Noah Baiten will open tomorrow and Iwatakenoyu will open from 2 pm to 6 pm. Rental (SPICY) will also open from 8 am so those who do not have skis or snowboards can enjoy.
