Hakuba Iwatake / ×35cm / Cloudy & Sunny2018.Dec.18
Iwatake officially announced that the amount of snow reached 35cm at the upper area and 10 cm at the lower area as we had heavy snow twice, on Dec.14 (Fri) and Dec.18 (Tue). When I went to the top area by Gondola, which starts operation every day from 8:20 am for sightseeing, I found beautiful snowfield of South Slope before me.

Trees were all white, standing against the blue sky. However, the daytime lasted short and it was really cold. My fingers and toes were freezing when I stopped.

There was the sweet scent of cinnamon from THE CITY BAKERY at HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR. About 25cm of snow lied on the terrace, however, the way to Tenbo Space was easy to walk on because the snow was trodden hard.

There was about 50 cm of snow in total on East Slope, including 35 cm of fresh snow. Snow sometimes reached above my knees when I walked on as it was soft and light. A strong wind blew around 9:30, which raised snow on trees up.
