It rained until around 7:40 at the foot of the slope, however, it turned to snow. At the top, a fine hail of snow was falling on the cold northerly wind. Moreover, it was shrouded in the fog. The granular snow, which once melted, refrozen at South Slope. It was hard and my edges didn’t work very well.

There were not many people probably because the weather forecast said it would rain today. Most of the skiers at South Slope were students who were warming-up for the student competition. As male giant slalom started, people were cheering at the sides of the road and taking photos.

Gezan Course was icy between the Chuo High-speed lift station and Rouka. As I reached Sunny Valley Course, it was not so hard and nicely melting, especially at the middle and goal area. The fog cleared under Rouka, and my visibility became pretty good at the lower area of the Snow Field.

Female downhill skiing started at the special course at Kometsuga from 9:30. The fine snow was driven by the wind from the front and a few millimeters of snow accumulated on the firm slope. Ms. Satsuki Urano (Shinshu University ski club), who ranked first at the official training yesterday, was holding the first place as of 10:20, with the record of 49.65 seconds.
