The annual event “Iwatake Thanksgiving Day” was held next to Gondola Base Station. Visitors waited in line in front of the booths even before the opening, then “Hakuba Shio-no-michi Taiko (Japanese drums)” began playing at 10:00 a.m.

The best points of the event is to get various things, such as sake, beer, amazake, oshiruko, Mochi (rice cakes), Garigari-kun (ice lollipop), and snacks. “Iwatake tonjiru (miso soup with pork)” is the most poplar of them. 4 people from Tokyo and Saitama talked to me, “Hi! Snownavi It’s very delicious!”

At the exhibition of Itoigawa products, you can buy BBQ set (1,000 yen). And Kanimiso-yaki (grilled edible creamy brown substance inside the shell of a crab; 800 yen), Amaebi-jiru (northern shrimp soup; 300 yen), Kamaboko minci (200 yen) and natural yellowtails pot (1,500 yen) were also sold. It was a good chance to eat delicious seafood even in Hakuba.

The lottery was held and the luxurious prizes were prepared, such as skis of OGASAKA and Salomon and seasonal tickets for next year. In the event of making mochi, the children pounding rice with a hammer. Mochi were offered as soon as it had made up, and someone put them in pork soup and Oshiruko.
