Iwatake/ ◎200cm / Snowy2018.Jan.24

18012401_iwatakeThe biggest cold wave in this winter has come! When I got off the gondola, it was snowing heavily on the mountain. A couple from Toyama greeted me and said, “We always enjoy your reports! Sawa Course was very fine. We are going to VIEW Course next.”
[Iwatake Summit Area]
18012402_iwatakeIn this morning, South was groomed well and covered with 10cm fresh snow. It was in beautiful condition. However, the visibility was poor because of the wind, snow and fogs.

18012403_iwatakeIn VIEW D, the upper gentle part had 10cm and lower steep slope had 20cm fresh snow. Thanks to the trees around the course, the wind was very weak and the visibility got better. I heard shouts of joy from VIEW B and VIEW α, where there was totally over 40cm fluffy snow fallen from the day before yesterday.

18012404_iwatakeAfter that, I came to White Ribbon Course, a steep slope in the lower area. On the skier’s left, a part of the course was groomed and covered with 10-15cm fresh snow. In the off-piste area, there was 50cm finally, much more than I expected!
