Only Kamo 1 and Paradise Triple started working around 8:00 a.m. The wind got weak and then the gondola started the operation at 10:00 a.m. It was a powder day and it made the visitors excited. Two people from Nagano talked to us with smile, “We always enjoy your reports! We came here before our job!”

Over 30cm of the fresh snow was on the non-groomed slopes of Hilltop, HIKAGE A & B and DANGAN. At Hilltop, I enjoyed drawing the first ski track on the wide slope. The groomed slopes of South and Gezan was nicely firm pwder snow and I could enjoy skiing fast.

In spite of the low height, the snow was lighter at HIKAGE A which is facing north. Sometimes the snow splashed snow over heads. Some snowboarders tried riding on difficult terrain, and I heard their exciting voices. Sawa was groomed soft and in good condition to ski. We really enjoyed the high quality snow on January both at groomed and non-groomed areas.

Although 20-25cm of the fresh snow was on the non-groomed steep slope of Kamoshika Pocket was already finished at 11:00 a.m. The quality of the snow was good at Village Side, so I could make turns as I imagined at moderately soft groomed courses of Sunny Valley, Kamoshika Racing and Big Bahn. Then the wind and snow got weaker.
