We had a rainy morning in the mountain foot areas. However, when I came up to the summit area by the gondola which was open as scheduled, it got snowing and the trees were frosted beautifully! 3 people from Tokyo said, “Today is the first day to snowboard in this season. We are really lucky because it is snowing in the upper part!”

South and Gezan Course were widely groomed and nicely firm. On the slopes, there was about 5cm fresh snow. The amount of fresh snow on the course sides reached 10cm, but the snow was very heavy and wet.

Only a few people were in slopes in the early morning because of the rainy condition and the number of people increased gradually from 9:30 a.m. Almost of them were enjoying in the upper areas. As time passed, the damp fresh snow was stepped and it became easier to turn.

The snow changed into sleet in the lower Gezan Course and the wet snow on the slopes made me slow down suddenly. In Sunny Valley Course and Paradise, it was raining but the snow condition was not so bad. The groomed slopes were nicely firm and my skis ran well there.
