Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field is open 1 week earlier than the schedule. Saying exactly, it is pre-open for two days (today and tomorrow) and only East is available. It will be closed from Dec 11th (Mon) till 14th(Thu) and will open again on 15th(Fri), which is grand opening.

East was entirely groomed and in very good condition to ski with moderately soft ground. I saw people blowing snow with their ski and board. In the first few hours, I only found snowboarders and children practicing in a team.

I have concerned about Gezan Course, South and North for coming grand opening. Gezan Course was groomed at intervals of 1-1.5 piste crawler. North had 10 cm fresh snow on the groomed area.

A snowboarder came from Nagano city told me that he often comes to HAKUBA VALLEY. After he enjoyed fresh snow along the course, he went onto groomed slope which did not seem it would be rough.
