Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field will be pre-open on Dec.9 (Sat) and Dec.10 (Sun). The gondola will start working at 8:00 am, and both the lift along East Slope, which will be available on the day, and 4-sen East will start at 8:15 am. Staffs looked busy for preparing for opening at Gondola Station and Rental Corner.

There was about 40 cm of snowfall at East Slope. The slope had already been well-compacted and flat. It snowed lightly from last night untill this morning. The amount of new snow was 2cm at the foot of the mountain and 8cm at the top.

Sky Ark will open at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, too. 10:00-14:00 is lunch time and limited varieties of dishes, including curry & rice, hashed rice, gyudon, and omlet, are available during the pre-open period. Various accessories, such as gloves, caps, goggles, and snacks are assorted in the shop on the right side of the entrance, which will be opened at the same time.

There is presently about 10-15 cm of snow at Big Bahn and Paradise Slope in the lower area. There are still some bushes and new snowfall is needed. New snowing machine is prepared in Paradise Slope.
