Iwatake / △50cm / Sunny2017.Dec.10
I felt comfortably warm in the sun this morning. In East Slope which was filled with tracks, there was well-compacted soft powder snow. The slope was in great condition for skiing down. A man from Nagano city gave me the watchword, “I always read your report! How can I approach you? hahaha” (Please feel free to come to me!)

In the morning, there were only some children belonging to a local junior team and a few general visitors. I enjoyed leaving tracks on the wide slope as freely as I wanted. Teachers of a snowboarding school were also making beautiful turns as also a part of warming up before the beginning of the season.

When I removed ski boards and entered the forest in the top of Iwatake, I found about 60cm of snow left. As I passed through the trees, I saw Northern Alps soaring to the blue sky. Iwatake, which is an isolated mountain, is located in the best place to enjoy a view of the Northern Alps. Please note that all slopes, including VIEW Slope, are going to open on Dec.15 (Fri)!

As the slope got crowded around 9:30, the tracks diminished. However, it didn’t become rough and remained soft and in good condition. It got warmer in the daytime and I felt sweaty in the gloves.
