At around 10:00 a.m. when I got off the gondola, it was thickly foggy in South and Gezan Course. Besides, the strong wind blew the damp sleet against our bodies, so I felt very cold in the slopes. Because of the direction of the slopes, the visibility was good in VIEW Courses and North, so many people move there.

Because we had a rainy day as forecast, Mountain Side was more quiet than usual and the fresh runs remained for a long while. The groomed slopes were nicely firm and in good condition, but people slowed down because of the thick fog. In Gezan Course, we almost lost our way, but the light near the top station of Chuo Kosoku lift was a good sign.

The visibility got better in Sunny Valley Course. However, it was raining heavily in Village Side. Some parts were hard but the slope was in good condition generally and it looked to hardly be damaged by the rain.

Today is the final day of “Village Mayor’s Cup Ski Competition & Male Alpen Division Preliminary” in Kamoshika Racing Course. By the way, “2017 Hakuba Snow Walk” will be held tomorrow, Feb. 18 (Sat), and you can enjoy snowshoeing in Nezuko Forest, VIEW Courses and the beech forest in the summit area!!
