The sky seemed to clear up, but it was still cloudy this morning. However, the quality of snow was great and the temperature was low enough to keep it. I had a word with a lift man with a smile, “It’s going to be a good day, isn’t it?” “It sure is!”

The East slope, which opens the earliest every season and faces to the northeast, has the best snow in Iwatake. Instead of abundant and good snow during the top season, there weren’t many people in the early morning on the weekday. I could enjoy making turns as I wanted on powder snow.

The condition was great on South and Gezan, too. These slopes were so wide and flat that I could ski with speed using the edges. The quality of snow was also good on Sunny Valley and Paradise, so I wanted to ski down 3.8 km in length repeatedly by taking a gondola.

There was powdery snow on the groomed slopes such as Big Bahn, Up Bahn and Kamoshika Racing Course along Kamoshika #1 Pair. I saw many students practicing for “The 44th Student Ski Competition IWATAKE”, which will start from next Tuesday, Feb.14.
