Iwatake / ×50cm / Sunny2016.Dec.12
A cold wave had stayed over Japan since Dec. 6 (Tue) and brought good snow to Iwatake. Today was a fine day after several snowy days. The air was so refreshing and I could see a beautiful contrast of Northern Alps and the blue sky.

The fallen snow was dry and very light, thanks to the radiative cooling in the early morning. The amount was about 40cm deep. Only one more good snowfall will be enough to cover bushes completely.

VIEW B is in the north face of the mountain, so the snow was much more than other areas. In VIEW Area, Tree Run Course and “VIEW + α” will be newly open in this winter! Powdery snow spots will be expanded in Iwatake.

In East and North, the slopes were roughly groomed, while the gondola and lifts were inspected toward the opening on Dec. 16 (Fri). It is forecast to be snowy again from tomorrow, so Iwatake is expected to be in good condition on the opening date.
