Mr. Maruyama Takao (Photo, Nagano) who is a local skier from Happo and won totally 5 times including the 3 straight times at the 47th, 48th and 49th championship is on the fifth at the final now! The slopes for the competitions were changed greatly because of the heavy snow from the last evening and we expected that this would help Mr. Maruyama to improve his score on the last day of the Technical Championships. The snowfall got too heavy during the men’s “Giant Slalom” event even in the lower areas of the ski area and the thick fog came up, so the event was stopped temporarily (*Started again in about 40 minutes). Because of this delay of events, the “Freestyle” division, the second event today, was cancelled and only 3 events of “Giant Slalom”, “Slalom” and “Slalom Freestyle” were held at the Super Finals.

Ms. Kamiya Kurumi (Photo shooted on Mar. 5, Hokkaido) kept her points on the second place at both the preliminary and finals. Mr. Yamanoi Zen (Photo shooted on Mar. 5, Hokkaido) kindly answered our interview, “Hi, long time no see! Thank you for your report on the student competition!” Mr. Yamanoi is the consecutive winner of 4 events of “Student Ski Competition IWATAKE (Demo Skiing Division)”. He was on the 6th place at the final yesterday. We hope he will get a better score on the finals!
