As was the case yesterday, today was another calm, sunny day; making it a great weekend to be on the slopes. Cloudless skies overnight saw the temperatures drop below -10℃, maintaining excellent powder snow conditions! I observed skiers and boarders heading straight for the groomed Riesen Slalom Course (pictured) this morning, agressively attacking the downhill as if it was a competition.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
Riesen (pictured) was in great skiing condition from top to bottom, with a relatively-firm groomed snow surface on the top half, and a slightly firmer surface on the Usaba Slope at the end of the bottom half. I noticed a number of people making non-stop laps of the area using the Riesen Quad lift. Even after the fresh, groomed corduroy had faded, the soft powder snow maintained the excellent conditions.

I was greeted by a couple of skiers from Osaka (pictured), who told me, “We love your site! We’re big fans, so we put your logo on our helmets.” Thank you! This morning the start of the Alpen Quad had been delayed due to a mechanical inspection, but got moving around 8:50.
[Panorama Course]
Conditions were relatively uniform across the Panorama Course (3rd photo) and the groomed portion of Usagidaira, as well as the area alongside the Kurobishi No. 2 Quad, the Skyline Course and the Kitaone Forest Cat Track, with excellent, groomed packed powder surfaces. The Sakka Wave area (pictured) at the end of the Olympic Course II and the Shirakaba Slope featured slightly firmer surfaces, but were still in good condition.
