Happo-One / △140cm / Light Snow2021.Dec.20
The heavy snow that had fallen throughout the day had given way to light snowfall by this morning. Despite it being a weekday, the powder hunters were out in full force, and they could be seen getting on the on-time 8:30 Alpen Quad one after another. Dropping into the ungroomed slope parallel to the Kurobishi No. 3 Pair (pictured), I was greeted by 50cm of new, light and fluffy powder!

Thanks to the heavy snowfall of 12/17 (Fri.) 〜 12/19 (Sun.), the Skyline 2 Pair and the Sakka Kitaone Quad began operation yesterday, and the Skyline Course (pictured) is now open to skiers and snowboarders. Visibility was an issue at times this morning as a light wind seemed to carry with it a covering of fog that repeatedly blew in and out.

The ungroomed areas of Skyline were also covered in 40 to 50 cm of new, light snow! I could hear the excited voices of people enjoying powder runs here and there. The groomed areas were also in great condition, with the slope groomed to the width of two grooming machines, and a perfectly-packed, powder surface.

It was a similar story in the groomed areas alongside the Kurobishi No. 2 Quad and the Usagidaira Slope (pictured), with moderately firm packed-powder surfaces topped off with 1 to 2 cm of light, fresh snow that made for some great turns. The fresh powder along the Alpen Quad and Kurobishi No. 3 Pair was pretty tracked out after around only an hour.
