Happo-one / △130cm / Snowy2021.Nov.27
Happo’s second morning of the season was greeted by another significant snowfall. The resort’s official homepage listed the snow overnight as 37cm, but it continued coming down and by the time the slopes were open and I got out onto the Panorama Course at 8:50, there had to be around 50cm of fresh powder! The snow was a bit heavy, but fluffy and plenty enjoyable.

Skiing parallel to the Kokusai 3 Pair Lift, the left side of the slope and the first half of the right side were groomed to about the width of 3 grooming machines, but the rest was left ungroomed. Even the groomed sections were topped off by around 25cm of new, soft snow (pictured), and the base below the fresh snow was also soft enough that it didn’t interfere at all with my turns.

It felt moderately crowded, but waiting times for the Kokusai 3 Pair (pictured) and Panorama Pair were still less than a minute to up to two minutes max. Getting off at the top of the lift, the courses were relatively empty and I was able to comfortably ski at my own pace. Later on in the morning most of the fresh snow covering the groomers had been sniffed out, and the ungroomed areas were almost completely covered in deep tracks.

I was greeted again today by a lot of people on the slopes telling me good morning and wishing me well for the season ahead. In other news, on 12/25 (Sat.) and 12/26 (Sun.), in front of the Usagidaira Terrace, a 21-22 NEW MODEL BLASTRACK & OGASAKA SKI TEST RIDE event is scheduled to be held.
