Happo-one Snow Resort has decided to extend its operation to May 9 (Sun) this season, although other ski areas finish their operations earlier than the schedule! We are having sunny days for 4 days straight thanks to the high pressure pattern over Japan. The groomed slope of Usagidaira (Photo) was already in melting corn snow condition from the open with the smooth upper part and very wet lower part.

The flat slope facing to the north along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (Photo) was also wet and soft. My skis ran well there, so we could enjoy riding at high speed comfortably. The off-piste areas along Alpen Quad and Kurobishi No.3 Pair were covered with nicely soft big bumps.

In the groomed slope of Skyline Course, the beginning part was wet smoothly and the wet layer of the snow was getting thicker as I skied down. In the bottom part, I found some parts short of snow. However, there were poles to give attention and the snow was added there.

Panorama Course was also in wet corn snow condition from the morning. In the south part of Kokusai No.3 Pair had much less snow at the beginning, but the north part (Photo) still had enough snow thanks to the snowing machines working hard in the top season. We could enjoy carving as we wanted without slowing down.
