The early morning clouds melted away by the start of business and were replaced by an expansive blue sky spreading out in all directions. I was expecting hardpack similar to yesterday to start off the day again today, but the groomed, granular snow surface of the Panorama Course (pictured) was only moderately firm and overall conditions were excellent!My edges held well and I enjoyed a fun, speedy run.

The eastern sky was noticeably hazy, possibly caused by dust from the storms currently affecting China, or possibly the result of spring pollen.As was the case yesterday, a sea of clouds was visible again this morning from the Riesen Grat Course (pictured). The outer surface of the well-groomed, granular snow covering the Riesen Grat Course was loosening up nicely in the sun, and here too conditions were good.

I had a brief chat with a couple of skiers from Aichi (pictured) who kindly shared that they routinely check our resort reports and excitedly mentioned how perfect the weather and snow conditions were. I also had two nice visitors from Nagano go out of their way to greet me over on the Kurobishi Slope. Conditions on the groomed run along the Kurobishi No. 2 Quad were similar to those over on Panorama.

Along with the great weather and conditions up top, the trees covered in hoarfrost at the resort’s apex were spectacular. On the other hand, snow melt is progressing rapidly at the base of the mountain, and as of today the traverse route connecting Sakka Wave and the Shirakaba Slope via Kokusai is now closed for the season.This Sunday (3/21) is ‘Kids Ski Free Day’ and the ‘Kids Technical Ski Competition’ will also be held.
