As of 3/14 (Sun.), the Shirakaba No. 1 Pair and Nakiyama Snowland are closed for the season. In addition, due to the current snowmelt rate, today (3/16) is the last day for the Central Course. The day started off with a hazy sky, most likely due to the warm temperatures during the early morning hours, though the current dust storms affecting China could also be having an effect as well. The wind blowing in from the east was weak, but warm.

The groomed, granular snow at the top of the Riesen Slalom Course (pictured, top) was already softening early on, while the snow surface in the middle to end portions of the course seemed to be more crisp and brittle.Over on the north-facing area along the Kurobishi No. 2 Quad (pictured), the groomed granular snow was of a higher moisture content and made for good conditions.

Medium to large sized moguls covered the slope surface of the areas along the Kurobishi No. 3 Pair and Alpen Quad. The snow towards the top of the Skyline Course (pictured) was moist, but became noticeably slushier from the middle to the bottom. There were similarly slushy conditions on the Kitaone Forest Cat Track and Sakka Wave, as well as the route between Kokusai and Shirakaba.
