Happo-one / ◎285cm / Snowy & Sunny2021.Mar.14
If people visit Happo for the first time, they would be surprised at the great gaps of snow amounts, temperature and weather between the village and mountains. We had a calm morning in the village this morning. On the mountain, the snow was falling down slightly with the fogs and the strong cold wind. The groomed slope of Panorama Course (Photo) was nicely firm with corn snow and covered with fluffy 3cm fresh snow.

The wind got stronger in the beginning part of Usagidaira and it was getting almost a snowstorm there. There was also 3-4cm fresh snow on the groomed slopes in Usagidaira (Photo) and along Kurobishi No.2 Quad. The dry fresh snow packed by winds was soft enough to reduce the firmness of snow.

The flat slope along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (Photo) was in good condition thanks to its nice degree of the slope and fresh snow. When I skied down to the middle part of Skyline Course, I felt the hardness of the groomed corn snow more than the softness of 2-3cm fresh snow topped on the slope.

The snow got melted and wet in the lower areas from the middle part of Rindo Course in Kitaone. The big bumps were covering the steep slopes of Kitaone and Central Course. By the way, the new course in Kitaone was closed and the ground appeared in the beginning part of the steep slope. We could enjoy cruising comfortably in the smooth slopes of Sakka Wave (Photo), Sakka and lower part of Kokusai.
