We have had a lot of snow this winter, but the amount of the snow is getting less at the similar pace as the last 2 years from Feb. 22 (Mon) in the base area (3 year comparison of snow amount in these 3 days, 2 years ago 55→50→50cm, 1 year ago 65→65→60cm, this year 70→70→70cm). Today, we had a calm sunny day typical of the spring season.

The groomed slopes along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (1st Photo and 2nd Photo) and in Usagidaira were nicely firm and in corn snow condition. 3 people gave me a greeting, “We always enjoy your reports!” and the women in the middle talked, “I will take the skiing test of the 2nd grade in Kiso Fukushima Ski Area. Today, I come skiing for my practice.”

The upper part of the groomed slope in Skyline Course was in melted corn snow condition and the lower part was wet and smooth. A father of a family from Kyoto talked, “We always enjoy your reports. It is one of my routines in my life to check your reports. My daughter will participate in the student competition at iwatake, so I will go cheer on her tomorrow.”

Rindo Course in Kitaone and Sakka were good for cruising thanks to their smooth wet slopes. By the way, Sakka No.2 Pair had finished its operation on Mar. 7 (Sun), but the south part of Sakka (Photo) has still much snow enough to ski and snowboard (There is a board to lead you to Sakka Kitaone Quad). The north part and the steep off-piste part of Nakiyama was closed due to the snow shortage on Mar. 7 (Sun).
