Happo-one / ◎320cm / Snowy2021.Feb.08
The snow falling until this morning was beyond our expectation in both of the amount and quality especially in the upper areas, although it was warm in the village yesterday. It was still snowing quietly with a weak wind in the thick fogs. Along Kurobishi No.3 Pair (Photo), there was a fresh slope where we could not find any tracks made yesterday.

About 35cm deep snow welcomed us as soon as we dropped off and it was very fluffy powdery snow! I felt the hard slope under the fresh snow sometimes, but people including a tele-mark skier who was the first one to ski here made a big spray of snow there.

By the way, today was a weekday under the state of emergency, so the ski area was very quiet. Almost all of the people I met this morning were regular guests. The groomed slope of “powdery snow” along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was nicely firm with 5cm fresh snow and that of “wet snow” in Skyline Course was also nicely firm with 3-5cm fresh snow. They were both in good condition as well.

The fogs got lighter and lighter as I skied down to the middle of Skyline Course. The off-piste areas along Skyline No.2 Pair (Photo) and on the west side were topped with 20-25cm fresh snow on the nicely firm slope. The groomed slope of Rindo Course in Kitaone was nicely firm with mixed snow of fresh and corn snow. Sakka Wave and Shirakaba were nicely firm with corn snow.
