Happo-one / ◎295cm / Snowy & Cloudy2021.Feb.02
Generally, the weather in the north part of HAKUBA VALLEY including Cortina and Hakuba Norikura shows similar patterns with that in Hokushin, Myoko areas and that of the center part including Happo and Goryu47 shows unique patterns in Hakuba. It means, in case of that the low air pressure goes toward the north east like now, the snow clouds coming beyond the Northern Alps often bring much snowfall on the upper parts of ski areas.

Against all expectations, the off-piste areas of Usagidaira had 30cm fresh snow in spite of the raining in the early morning in the village. In the south groomed area of Usagidaira (Usagidaira), we could make turns as we wanted thanks to the nicely firm good snow and enjoy the comfortable feel of 6-8cm fresh snow. Panorama Course was also in good condition (First Photo).

Besides, there was even 40cm fresh snow in the off-piste area facing the north in Kurobishi! However, the wet and heavy snow layer was under the fresh snow, so people passed this area straightly. While I heard many shouts of joy from the slope along Kurobishi No.3 Pair, the slope closed to Kurobishi No.2 Quad (Photo) remained fresh for a long time.
[Kurobishi]
The groomed slopes from Kurobishi No.2 Quad to the middle of Skyline Course was good for riding thanks to “the nicely firm snow covered with 8cm fresh snow” In the lower part, the snow got wet and heavy. By the way, the steep slope and detour course were closed today due to the risk of avalanche.
