It’s been warm since Friday, Jan.22. It was relatively cold this morning at -5℃ due to the radiative cooling. Trees were coated in rime ice at the mountain foot, especially around Himekawa River. Hakuba Sanzan turned red around 7 am (pictured), then yellow and white.

It was a calm day like yesterday with the sunlight coming through the eastern clouds. The wet snow was moderately packed on Riesen Slalom Course (pictured). Some skiers and snowboarders were having warm-up exercises before Alpen Quad started its operation at 8:30 am.

The wet snow was nicely packed too on Panorama Course (pictured) and on the southern area of Usagidaira. I sometimes skied down too fast as there were only a few people. There were some bumps on Sodeguro, Central Course, and the area along Alpen Quad line.

The area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was covered with powder snow again! The granular snow was hard-packed and there were some small moguls on Olympic Course II and Sakka Slope in the morning. For your information, Kitaone Course (including Rindo Course) has been closed due to avalanche risk.
