The “warm days” from Jan. 22 (Fri) finally finished today. It was very cold in the top areas, -6 degrees, and the trees of the upper parts were frozen. We could see the amazing view of the sea of clouds from Kurobishi (Photo) where was over clouds this morning.

In the slope along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (1st Photo), the snow had been in good condition of compacted powdery snow for a long time, but it changed into fine corn snow this morning. However, the edges of my skis worked well on the nicely firm slope, so we could enjoy turns comfortably. The groomed slope of Usagidaira (Photo) was also in nice condition as the slope along Kurobishi No.2 Quad.

The areas around Usagidaira Terrace were in low clouds. A woman from Osaka gave me a greeting, “I always check your reports! I have been coming to Happo since I was a student. Although I bring a pair of mogul skis today, I will change to fat skis because it is forecast to be snowy tomorrow.”

As she talked, we will have good snowfall from tomorrow, according to the exciting weather forecast. The groomed slope of Skyline Course (Photo) was softer than Usagidaira and Kurobishi. By the way, Kitaone Course (Including Rindo Course) was reopened on Jan. 27 (Wed) after the closure due to the risk of avalanche.
