Happo-one / ◎260cm / Sunny 2021.Jan.15

Snow rapidly melts in NOT cold winds…, because of the strong winds blowing for 2 days from the day before yesterday, the officially announced snow amount of the ski area suddenly dropped down from 335cm to 260cm. We had a calm morning with the mists today and could see the great view of the cloud sea in the early morning (Photo).

We worried about the snow conditions, but the groomed slopes along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (Photo), in Usagidaira, Skyline Course, Panorama Course, upper Kitaone Course were nicely firm and nice enough still. We could hear the comfortable sounds of stepped snow and see people making snow spray while skiing there.

The good snow enabled us to make turns comfortably in the groomed slopes of Kurobishi, Skyline and upper Kitaone. About the bottom areas, the slopes of Rindo Course in Kitaone, Sakka and upper Shirakaba were firm and the lower part of Shirakaba was very hard and icy.

By the way, TOYO TIRES FREERIDE HAKUBA 2021 is held today in the backside of the ski area (Kuzuresawa)! There were participants warming up and preparing for the competition on the slopes this early morning. Although the trees were frozen in the upper areas, we felt warm thanks to the sunlight and people talked “The weather is nice!” there.
