Sakka No.2 Pair Lift has started its operation from Jan. 6 (Wed), although it was not working until Jan. 5 (Tue). Along this lift, there is a flat wide slope called “Sakka South” (Photo) which is facing to the No.9 free parking area. It was warm this morning, so the surface of the nicely firm groomed slope was already moist.

It was very windy yesterday, so the lifts on the upper areas including Alpen Quad and Kurobishi No.2 Quad were closed all day. The strong wind was still blowing today and many lifts were suspended its operation again…. However, Nakiyama Triple and Happo Riesen Quad were open at the scheduled time, so we could go up to Riesen Slalom Course (Photo) and ski comfortably on the nicely firm groomed slope.

The slope of Riesen Slalom got more moist as I skied down, but my skis ran very well there. Panorama Course (Photo) was also groomed and in good condition with its nicely firm snow. In Olympic Course Ⅱ, the upper steep part was firm with little bumps and the lower flat part was groomed and nicely firm.

2 people from Hakuba and Shiga Pref. gave me a greeting, “We always check your reports! I guess it should be hard for to make a report on a windy day like today.” By the way, “75th Hakuba Happo-one Riesen Slalom Competition” will be held on Mar. 4 (Thu) and Mar. 5 (Fri). The application deadline is Jan. 15 (Fri), so please don’t miss it.
