“Trattoria Primo in Hakuba (=Karuizawa Primo Hakuba)”, an Italian restaurant in Karuizawa famous for freshly-cooked cast-iron pizza, is on the first floor of Usagidaira Terrace. Breakfast (780 yen) is served from 9~11 am and includes hot dog, prosciutto, salad, and a cup of coffee or tea (pictured).

The three-day holiday ended and we had a very quiet weekday today. Following the cold wave occurring on Jan.7 (Thu), another low-pressure system is developing over Japan Sea and the southern coast of the mainland of Japan. In Happo, the gentle wind started to bring snow at dawn. The groomed run of Usagidaira was covered with a layer of powdery new snow (pictured).

The slope was blanketed with the powdery snow along Kurobishi No.2 Quad and on Panorama Course, too. Panorama Course (pictured) was better than Usagidaira and Kurobishi today because there was no wind.

“I took Sakka Kitaone Quad to practice mogul skiing here on Kitaone Course (pictured). The moguls were too small in Usagidaira area, but they’re good here,” a skier coming from Karuizawa town, Nagano prefecture said.
The big mogul in the center and the firm snow was good practice.
