Happo-one / ◎330cm / Snowy2021.Jan.09

We had a heavy snow last night as well as the previous night. Finally, the amount of snow in the ski area officially announced reached over 300cm deep due to the new 50cm snowfall on the upper areas! The very thick snow on the roof of the Alpen Quad lift station (Photo) showed how heavy the snow falling last night was.

The staff who was removing snow as hard as possible talked, “We are very sorry, but it is still not sure when clearing snow has been done and the lift gets ready for open. We guess the lift will be open by 9:00 a.m.” While it was snowing quietly without winds, I could hear the comfortable sound of the stepped snow of the amazing slope when I walked.

After that, Alpen Quad started the operation at around 8:30 a.m. I moved down to Olympic Course Ⅱ (Photo), hearing the shouts of joy from my back in Usagidaira. There was 25-30cm fresh snow on the nicely firm groomed slope there, so we could still enjoy powdery snow even in the lower parts of the ski area!

4 people from Kyoto City in Kyoto who were taking a lesson of Hakuba Happo-one Ski School & Snowboard School gave me a greeting, “We are always checking your reports!” The groomed slopes along Shirakaba No.1 Pair were also nicely soft and in perfect condition for riding.
