Happo-one / ◎335cm / Light Snow2021.Jan.10
The heavy snow from the afternoon on Jan. 7 (Thu) lulled and it was snowing slightly this morning. A skier from Gifu Pref. gave me a greeting, “I always check your reports! I come skiing to Happo-one once or twice a year. I was also thinking about going to Cortina today, but I changed my mind and came to Happo because of your report uploaded yesterday.” The groomed slope of Usagidaira (Photo) was covered with 3cm fresh snow and in really good condition with its nicely firm slope.

People from Tokyo, Kanagawa, Aichi, Hyogo and Hakuba talked, “We always check your reports! We are skiing companions and staying at the same hotel. During these holidays, we will ski in Happo fully!” The slopes along Kurobishi No.2 Quad and of Skyline Course were also in good condition as well as Usagidaira, so we could control our skies comfortably as I expected.

I skied down to Sakka from Rindo Course of Kitaone and found the snow condition was still nice in the lower part. By the way, due to the declaration of a state of emergency in 4 prefectures in Japan, I saw much less beginners in the ski area than usual even in these holidays. Especially, the south area of Sakka (Photo) where is closed on weekdays was really quiet.

“We always check your reports! We will do our best to defeat Coronavirus! Yesterday, I (Right on photo) got stuck in the snow, so my husband helped me”, a couple from Aichi talked to me. In the off-piste areas of Usagidaira and Kurobishi, it is very hard to get off from the deep fluffy snow if you are stuck once. There were some boards calling attention to thick snow there.
