Happo-one / ◎270cm / Snowy & Cloudy2021.Jan.05
After the heavy snowfall from Dec. 13 (Sun) to Dec. 20 (Sun), it was snowy on Dec. 25 (Fri), 26 (Sat) and snowing heavily from Dec. 30 (Wed) to this morning. It was officially announced that the total amount of snowfall in the ski area is already 270cm and this is almost reaching 280cm in 2018-19 winter which also had good snow. It was a little bit warmer in the village (Photo) and we had the soft sunlight after 9:00 a.m.

In Riesen Grat, dry snow was falling heavily with the north-west chill wind, but the wind stopped when I skied down to Panorama Course (Photo). The amounts of fresh snow are 15-20cm in Usagidaira, Kurobishi and 10cm in front of Usagidaira Terrace. The groomed slopes of south Usagidaira and Panorama Course was in really good condition.

A guest from Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka Pref. gave me a greeting, “I always check your reports! The snow is really good in amount and quality this season. However, I have never had any sunny days for a week during my stay….” Anyway, the nicely firm groomed slopes are really good and they drove us to ski again and again.

Today, 70% of Olympic Course Ⅱ (Photo) was groomed. The slope was firmer than those of the upper areas, but it was still in nice condition to ski comfortably. By the way, all slopes are still open today, but less lifts than yesterday are on operations this morning (Usagidaira Pair is open only on weekends, Sakka No.2 Pair will be open from Jan. 9 to Jan. 11).
