A weak chill wind from the north, light fogs and dry snow. It has been snowing continuously from Dec. 30 (Wed). Alpen Quad was open at 8:30 a.m. as scheduled and the nicely firm groomed slope of Usagidaira was covered with 10cm fresh snow. When people skied into there, they raised the spray of fluffy snow highly.

In the off-piste areas of Kurobishi had 30cm deep fluffy snow as well. The snow which had fallen before was also soft, so even my legs under knees were got into the snow. While I could hear shouts of joy from the steep slope along Kurobishi No.3 Pair, the off-piste area on the side of Kurobishi No.2 Quad was quiet and keeping flat slope as it was beautifully (Photo).

A mother from Aichi Pref. gave me a greeting, “I always check your reports! I am staying in Hakuba from yesterday to Jan. 5 (Tue). I often come skiing to Happo and this is my second time this year.” In Skyline Course, the groomed slope was nicely firm and covered with 10-15cm fresh snow. The good slope enabled us to repeat turns very comfortably.

The wide groomed slope in the south of Sakka (Photo) is the best flat slope for beginners. Even though this slope in the bottom, the 10cm fresh snow on the slope was still very light. In the north part of Sakka, “Adventure Park Sakka” (Entrance Fee JPY500) is open from Dec. 25 (Fri) and you can play with sleds and tubing sleds.
