Drop off into the off-piste area of Omusubi (Photo)!! The snow was continuously falling from the last evening even in the village and it brought 50cm deep fresh snow in the upper part of the ski area and 20-25cm in the lower areas this morning. It was worried about the heavy snow and strong winds made a problem with the lift operations, but all lifts were open as scheduled.

Omusubi is a steep off-piste area from the beginning of detour course of Skyline Course to the detour course of Panorama Course (As known as “Panorin”) and it has 33 degrees at steepest, 27 degrees on average and a length of 500 meters. In the upper part, there are naturally made kickers. You can enjoy riding through trees in the lower part there.

The unique shape of the ground gave us more funs with the powdery snow. By the way, Exit “2”, one of the three exits of Omusubi, was open this morning. There were still stems of trees showing up above the snow, so I was skiing carefully.

The groomed slopes along Kurobishi No.2 Quad, the south area of Usagidaira and Panorama Course were nicely firm and covered with 3-5cm fresh snow, so we could ski very comfortably. In the beginning part of steep slope in Olympic Course Ⅱ which was bumpy and firm had 20-25cm fresh snow. The lower nicely firm groomed part was good for cruising as well.
