Happo-one / ○210cm / Snowy 2020.Mar.05
The cyclone, which rained at the foot yesterday afternoon, has evolved into something like a forecaster describing it as a “bomb cyclone” as it travels northeast.
When I got off the gondola that started moving at 8 o’clock on time, the snow was falling vigorously on a slightly stronger north wind.
[Kurobishi slope]
Around the moderately tightened Kurobishi No.2 Quad (pictured), there is about 15 cm of fresh snow, which has been “fluffy”. It was good that the groundwork was not hard, but the gusts that blow intermittently can raise snow and cause whiteout. After that, the Skyline No.2 Pair was suspended at around 8:50a.m., and the Kurobishi No.2 and Alpine Quads were suspended around 9:10a.m..
[Kurobishi slope]
Riesen, a compact snow where the coarse snow is tight, has fresh snow piled up about 10 cm in the early stage (photo)-middle. At the end (Usuba slope), wet fresh snow was piled up about 10cm and it was easy to slip through.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
On the Shirakaba slope where the coarse snow is tight, wet fresh snow is about 5 cm. There was no bush or thin part of snow and I could slide with confidence. The wind gained momentum, and around 9:30, all lifts were suspended except Happo Riesen Quad Lift and Nakiyama Triple Lift.
