According to the monthly weather forecast, the temperature will stay or be higher than the average year between November 9 (Sat) and 15 (Fri). Then, it will be lower between November 16 (Sat) and 22 (Fri) and it will be usual or rise again after that. We had the second snowfall of the season at the upper area of Riesen Grat (1,831 m above sea level), although it’s been warm this week.

There was wet snow at the upper area of Riesen Grat. Happo One Nature Trail ・Climbing Course (in the photo) was covered with about 2-cm of snow. The snow was too hard packed by wind to leave shoe impression.

The sun repeatedly appeared from and went behind the fast fleeting clouds. The temperature gradually rose as the clouds cleared in the east around 9:30. I found melt water stream running through the stones and ice (in the photo).

It was snowy in the morning but it cleared up later. The ridge of Ushiro Tateyama Mountain Range, including Hakuba Sanzan (in the photo) was hidden by the clouds coming from the west.
